Landmark Television Series Mad Men Comes Home To AMC

Break out your highball glasses and gray flannel suits! This fall, the landmark television series Mad Men comes home to AMC.

The 16-time Emmy Winning drama put AMC on the map and ushered in the New Golden Age of Television. Now, a multi-year agreement with Lionsgate will bring the iconic series back to AMC platforms.

"Mad Men launched on AMC in 2007 and became the definition of ‘talked-about-television’ – and for our company began a period of distinction and impact that continues to this day," Ed Carroll, Chief Operating Officer of AMC Networks, who was president of AMC when the series was greenlit, said. "We are so pleased to bring Mad Men home to AMC, and again be able to share these unforgettable characters and this nuanced and exceptional storytelling with fans, new and old, on a variety of platforms starting this fall."

Set in 1960s New York, the sexy, stylized and provocative AMC drama Mad Men follows the lives of the ruthlessly competitive men and women of Madison Avenue advertising, an ego-driven world where key players make an art of the sell. Created by Emmy and Golden Globe winning executive producer Matthew WeinerMad Men is anchored by an award-winning ensemble cast, including Jon HammJanuary JonesElisabeth MossVincent KartheiserChristina HendricksJohn SlatteryJessica ParéRich SommerAaron StatonRobert MorseKiernan ShipkaJay Ferguson, and Christopher Stanley.

The series revolves around the conflicted world of Don Draper (Hamm), the biggest ad man (and ladies man) in the business, and his colleagues at the Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce Advertising Agency. As Don makes the plays in the boardroom and the bedroom, he struggles to stay a step ahead of the rapidly changing times and the young executives nipping at his heels. The series also depicts authentically the roles of men and women in this era while exploring the true human nature beneath the guise of 1960s traditional family values.

Over its seven seasons on AMC, Mad Men won 16 Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Drama Series four years in a row from 2008-2011, five Golden Globes, a Peabody Award, numerous other awards and recognitions and had an enormous impact on popular culture, and continues to rank among the best and most influential television series of all time.
