Hell Wins Alberta Film & TV Award; Tim Guinee Talks Tightrope Walking

This week, Hell on Wheels wins the Alberta Film & TV award for best drama, while Tim Guinee chats with the Calgary Herald about the high wire. Plus, CarterMatt wants an Emmy nomination for Robin McLeavy. Read on for more:

• The Calgary Herald says that Hell on Wheels won the Alberta Film and Television Award for Best Dramatic Series.

• Tim Guinee is interviewed by the Calgary Herald about his experience as a tightrope walker and his recent meeting with Rick Wallenda of the famed Flying Wallendas.

CarterMatt believes Robin McLeavy deserves an Emmy nod: "For any actor, the ultimate achievement is having us care so much for someone, even if we are powerless to their fate. This is what happens with Eva every episode she appears."

Variety talks to the Hell on Wheels production sound mixer, who says nearly all of Season 4's episodes were shot on location, so he captures sound with body mics on the actors since "period costumes and materials are very friendly in terms of hiding them."

TVLine reports that Hell on Wheels will return with the first half of its 14-episode season on July 18, with the second half airing in Summer 2016.
