TV Guide Gets Season 2 Hints; Las Vegas Weekly Likes Halt's Vegas Portrayal

This week, TV Guide gets some Season 2 hints from Christopher Cantwell. Plus, Las Vegas Weekly likes the way Halt and Catch Fire portrayed the city. Read on for more:

• Co-executive producer Christopher Cantwell tells TV Guide that Lee Pace's Joe will remain Halt and Catch Fire's central character, saying, "Joe for us has always been the reason that we're here. He is the catalyst that enters everybody's life."

Las Vegas Weekly is impressed with how the "brilliant" Halt and Catch Fire depicted the Comdex convention in Las Vegas in the penultimate episode, and was happily surprised that the drama "opted not to use Vegas (solely) for its stereotypes."

Highbrow Magazine, examining the depiction of working women on TV, observes that Halt and Catch Fire "brings us two characters you don't quite often see on the small screen: The idealistic, antisocial punk programmer Cameron Howe, and middle-class wife and mother Donna Clark, who is an engineer like her husband Gordon." The article goes into depth about Cameron as a "never before seen character on television."
