How Comic Legend Stan Lee Created the X-Men
In this exclusive video interview you won't see on the air, seminal comic book creator Stan Lee dishes on how he first came up with the idea for The X-Men.
With the success of The Amazing Spider-Man, The Hulk and The Fantastic Four, Stan's publisher asked Stan to create the next big thing. "In order to get a new superhero, you have to think of what his or her power is. That's not too hard. But you have to figure out, 'How did they get that power?' And that's a little more difficult."
Stan describes how coming up with the origin story of the mutants came to him in a stroke of genius, but it took more than a little convincing to sell his boss on the idea.
