How to Watch the 2023 FANGORIA Chainsaw Awards on AMC+ and Shudder

Horror fans and thrill-seekers assemble! Here's everything you need to know about the 2023 FANGORIA Chainsaw Awards, a ceremony dedicated to the scariest and most surprising film and TV genre of all – including how to watch it.
When is the 2023 FANGORIA Chainsaw Awards?
This year's event takes place on Sunday, May 21. You can watch it live on Shudder TV at 9 pm ET. You can also stream the event on-demand on both Shudder and AMC+ beginning Monday, May 22.
Who's hosting the 2023 FANGORIA Chainsaw Awards?

For the third year in a row, the event will be hosted by actor and writer David Dastmalchian. You may recognize him from movies including Dune, Ant-Man, and The Suicide Squad. He also stars in the upcoming supernatural horror film The Boogeyman, which is based on Stephen King's short story of the same name.
He will be joined this year by co-host Peaches Christ, who's known for hosting enormously popular movie events at San Francisco's Castro Theatre. Peaches Christ is the alter ego of Joshua Grannell, who wrote and directed the cult 2010 slasher flick All About Evil starring Natasha Lyonne and Thomas Dekker.
Who will be presenting at the 2023 FANGORIA Chainsaw Awards?
Among this year's presenters are actress Jamie Clayton, who's known for her roles in Hellraiser, The L Word: Generation Q, and Sense8. Look out, too, for young actors Mason Thames and Madeleine McGraw, who starred opposite Ethan Hawke in the hit 2021 horror film The Black Phone.
Also confirmed as a presenter is Akela Cooper, who wrote the hugely popular horror movies Malignant, Hell Fest, and M3GAN. It's definitely a stacked lineup, with more presenters still to be announced.
What is the history of the FANGORIA Chainsaw Awards and how did it begin?
Founded by long-running horror magazine FANGORIA, the annual Chainsaw Awards have been recognizing excellence in horror movies since 1992. Since 2015, they have also handed out accolades to outstanding horror TV series.  The Chainsaw Awards – as they're often referred to – take great pride in celebrating a genre that's frequently overlooked by other awards shows.
FANGORIA's Editor-In-Chief Phil Nobile Jr. said when this year's nominees were announced: “We shouldn’t be surprised at the lack of love horror received from mainstream awards this year, but 2022 was an embarrassment of riches for the horror fan, and to see none of it nominated by the bigger institutions was a bit of a shock. As ever, FANGORIA is happy to pick up the slack.
“The genre excellence on display in 2022 encompasses veterans and new voices, productions of all sizes, and every color of the dark. The competition this year is going to be a bloodbath.”
Who's nominated at the 2023 FANGORIA Chainsaw Awards?
This year's frontrunner is Nope, Jordan Peele's visionary blend of SciFi, horror and Neo-Western, which picks up 10 nominations including nods for stars Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer, and Steven Yeun. Other acting nominees include Pearl's Mia Goth, Bones and All's Mark Rylance, The Black Phone's Ethan Hawke, Barbarian's Justin Long, and Scream's Jenna Ortega.
