There’s been another attack by the creature, but this attack is much different than the ones before. While the creature is clearly a threat to the men from a pure brutality standpoint, it’s now proving it can outsmart them as well.

The creature stages an attack, diverting Crozier to go save one of his men. Then, while Crozier is out on the ice, he hears a scream from back on the ship. The creature has tricked him and killed another man. “They’re dealing with something that is as much man in a way as it is animal,” reveals showrunner Dave Kajganich. “These men have walked into a region and a mythology that they don’t have any clue about and have to somehow keep themselves alive even without knowing what the rules are.”
