Bottomless Brunch at Colman’s: Don Julio Mojitos Means Summer Isn’t Over Yet
Labor Day has come and gone. There’s officially a bite in the air. It might be the cooler temperature, but it could also be the mosquitos because summer is far from over.
This week, Colman Domingo pairs Don Julio with the ultimate refreshing cocktail, the mojito. Sweet citrus with a heavy dose of herbs, the flavor profile of the mojito may be complex, but it could not be simpler to make. Let's get started.
- 1.5 oz Don Julio Blanco
- 0.5 oz fresh lime juice
- 0.5 oz agave syrup
- 6 leaves of fresh mint, muddled
- 1 oz club soda
- 1 sprig of mint, for garnish
Step 1: Muddle fresh mint in a cocktail shaker.
Step 2: Put tequila, lime juice, and simple syrup into the cocktail shaker.
Step 3: Add ice and shake vigorously.
Step 4: Add club soda, shake once, and pour into a Collins glass.
Step 5: Garnish with a mint sprig.
Depending on how tall your Collins glass is, you may want to top your drink off with a bit more club soda.
And of course, please drink responsibly.
