Bob Odenkirk Chats With Forbes; GQ Cheers Saul's Humor
This week, Forbes interviews Bob Odenkirk, while GQ applauds Better Call Saul's humor. Plus, executive producer Thomas Schnauz discusses the latest episode and the challenges of a prequel with The Hollywood Reporter. Read on for more:
• Talking to Forbes about Jimmy and Kim, Bob Odenkirk says, "She has his back and supports him even though she suspects he might have done something nefarious. It’s a statement of how much she wants it to work."
• Discussing the challenge of doing a prequel, Thomas Schnauz tells The Hollywood Reporter that "there are a lot of puzzle pieces we're trying to fit together and have make sense, so it's a great challenge to make sure that all the stuff we're doing logically tracks for what we know happens in the future of Breaking Bad."
• Thomas Schnauz reveals to Yahoo TV, "I got very lucky to direct a scene with Michael McKean and Jonathan Banks together for the first time — a lot of worlds colliding. As we go through Season 3, we get a lot of worlds colliding with Gus and Jimmy, Mike and Chuck, and some other stuff coming up at us."
• GQ features "the best, funniest TV shows streaming right now that you haven't seen yet," including Better Call Saul, explaining "Bob Odenkirk is, as ever, pitch-perfect as Jimmy McGill" and the "real revelation here, though, is Rhea Seehorn as Kim Wexler."
• Bustle comments, "If you love the hate-fueled history between Gustavo Fring and Hector Salamanca, then Better Call Saul may be proving to be even more delightful than usual for you in Season 3."
• Bleeding Cool highlights a new Los Pollos Hermanos employee training video, noting, "Giancarlo Esposito does such a great job playing them straight that [if] you didn’t know they were for Better Call Saul, you might assume they were real."
