Rhea Seehorn Talks Season 3; Saul Writers Speak to Yahoo TV

This week, Rhea Seehorn speculates about Season 3, while Better Call Saul's writers speak to Yahoo TV. Plus, Vulture is a fan of the Season 2 finale. Read on for more:

• "There’s a lot of leeway with where they could go. I can only presume that it’s also on the table for them to do scenes that happen during Breaking Bad years in some fashion," Rhea Seehorn says to Deadline about Season 3.

• Gordon Smith tells Yahoo TV, "I feel like there’s something sad about losing Jimmy to Saul. Saul, he feels much more damaged now. Knowing who Jimmy was — his heart is in the right place, even if it’s playing fast and loose. Going to who Saul is just feels like there’s going to be something that breaks within him."

Vulture commends the Season 2 finale, partly because "we see the Cain-and-Abel struggle between Jimmy and Chuck reach a dizzying intensity."

Variety reports that Michael Mando has been cast in Spider-Man: Homecoming opposite Tom Holland, Marisa Tomei and Michael Keaton.

Gold Derby reveals that Better Call Saul submitted seven episodes for Emmy consideration: "Amarillo," "Bali Ha’i," "Gloves Off," "Klick," "Nailed," "Rebecca" and "Switch" and submitted nine episodes for the drama directing Emmy race.

Deadline's gallery of Emmy contenders includes Bob Odenkirk and Jonathan Banks and notes that Better Call Saul "returned for an acclaimed second season this year, cementing its place as Breaking Bad's successor."

Irish Times considers Better Call Saul one of the year's best shows, remarking, "Television is filled with brooding anti-heroes whose noble intentions are blighted by inner darkness. Saul/Jimmy is much more interesting than them. He’s an anti-villain. His dark trajectory is undermined by inner decency."

• Visiting Minneapolis to research his adaptation of David Carr's memoir, Bob Odenkirk tells MinnPost, "We’re going to get into things he didn’t talk about, and we’re going to take it to the day he dies, in the offices of The New York Times."
