AMC Networks is recognizing National Disability Employment Awareness Month in October with a collection dedicated to spotlighting and celebrating people living with disabilities. The Visibility Collection includes BBC America’s all-new series of short films CripTales, Critics’ Choice Award-winner Push Girls, and Peabody Award-nominee This Close, which has received the Ruderman Family Foundation Seal of Authentic Representation. The collection will be available to stream FREE (no log-in required) all month long.

CripTales is a collection of six short films, each one a fictional monologue capturing a life-changing moment for a person with disabilities. These films are based on factual research and lived experience, and span the last 50 years of British history. Watch all six short films here for free.

The monologues are written by Mat Fraser, Jackie Hagan, Jack Thorne, Genevieve Barr, Tom Wentworth, Matilda Ibini; performed by Mat Fraser, Robert Softley Gale, Ruth Madeley, Jackie Hagan, Liz Carr, Carly Houston; and directed by Ewan Marshall, Amit Sharma, and Jenny Sealey. The films cover a variety of experiences, from an actor (played by Fraser) in the present day waiting to go into an audition and dreading it, to a young woman in 1968 (played by Madeley; Years and Years, BBC America’s The Watch) contemplating the future of her pregnancy.

During the broadcast and online, AMC Networks will share with viewers how they can support the efforts of The American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD), one of the leading national cross-disability civil rights organization that advocates for the full recognition of the rights of over 60 million Americans with disabilities.

Push Girls chronicles the lives of four friends living in California. Like all sexy, dynamic Hollywood women, Angela, Tiphany, Mia, and Auti yearn to get the most out of life -- but their lives have taken an unexpected turn. Through accident or illness, these women have been paralyzed from the neck or waist down. Though their legs may be disabled, their spirits remain unbroken. Viewers can share in the laughter, the daily challenges, and the personal triumphs of friends who never let their wheelchairs define them... even when their lives threaten to spin out of control. From dating, to careers, to starting a family, they push themselves - and each other - to the limit. This Close is created by and starring two deaf creators, Shoshannah Stern and Josh Feldman. Kate (Stern) and Michael (Feldman) are your typical twenty-something pair of best friends living in Los Angeles. They also just happen to be deaf. Whether asking for accommodations at work, struggling to communicate with their lovers across the language barrier, or coming to terms with imperfect parents, Kate and Michael struggle to find a balance between work, romance, family, and their unique friendship.
