It’s been two years of waiting but at long last comes Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. And if the trailer is to be believed, there’s something for everyone in this sixth installment of the franchise: Teen romance (Ginny kisses Harry), do-or-die battle scenes (Dumbledore staves off evil on a hill of flames), and stunning special effects (ethereal Death Eaters wreak havoc). The twist this time is London, not just the magical world, is under attack. (Look twice before crossing the Millennium Bridge, Brits, or you may end up like that screaming young girl in red, floating in mid-air with her long hair flailing, J-horror style.) As to be expected from anything Potter, destiny is intoned by a British Thespian Hall of Fame (Michael Gambon, Alan Rickman, and David Thewlis, all Potter staples). “It’s over,” says Rickman in the preview. But for us, it’s just begun.
