Stacie Rose: A Musician Without Limits

If you spot someone on the street crooning away into her cell phone, there’s a good chance it’s singer-songwriter Stacie Rose. Inspiration can strike at any moment, and when it does, Rose tries to get it down, even if it means calling up her answering machine to record it.

Her sound is a mix of genres: Perky pop to jangly country. Rose admires those who break the mold, likely what makes her such a chameleon in her own work: “I hate to limit myself,” she admits. Her songs have been featured all across TV landscape (including The Hills and The Riches), but Rose is a big-time movie buff. Ask her who her favorite actors are and she’ll cite more than a dozen thespians — from Paul Newman to Chris Cooper; Elizabeth Taylor to Frances McDormand.

Here are her other favorites:

Favorite Movie: Goodfellas

Movie Character I’d Love to Be: Bonnie Parker in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones . How embarrassing.”

First Screen Crush: Christopher Reeve as Superman

Most Unforgettable Movie Scene: “In True Romance — the shakedown scene with Christopher Walken and Dennis Hopper. ‘You don’t wanna show me nothing but you’re telling me everything.'”

Favorite Movie Soundtracks: Pulp Fiction , Saturday Night Fever , Jerry Maguire , Magnolia , The Science of Sleep , Almost Famous .
