Awesome if Fake Star Trek Teaser

If you’re like me, you’re eagerly awaiting next week’s release of the J.J. Abrams monster movie Cloverfield not for the final reveal of the beast, but for the Star Trek trailer promised to precede it. Seriously, I haven’t been this excited about a preview since—and I can’t believe I remember this—I saw the teaser for Star Trek VI in 1991 which all but eliminated any chance my 7-year-old brain had of retaining a memory of the film I was there to see. Wait a sec. Curly Sue . Yes, Curly Sue. You may now begin mocking me.

But I digress. Truth is some people are even more excited than I am, and have made their own little teaser. (It’s pretty awesome.) Watch it, and then see if you can spot the three giveaways that it’s a fake.

Okay. The Giveaways:

1. Spock’s monologue is lifted from the end of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan .
2. The Paramount logo is cut off right as the tune is about to change to the theme from Star Trek: Nemesis .
3. The music during the monologue is lifted from the opening sequence to Star Trek: Generations .

Any others?

By the way: Here’s a link for a high def version of the trailer, as well as a few money shots of our fanboy’s Enterprise.
