According to Samantha Morton (Alpha), Season 10 is going to be “incredible.”
That’s the message the actress gives in a new video in which the cast and creators give fans an exclusive look at the new season.
While fans are in for a treat, the survivors have their work cut out for them.
“The group is in such a tight place right now and being squeezed from every direction,” says Noman Reedus (Daryl).
The war with the Whisperers has created a tense situation.
“Season 10 is really different. With Alpha it’s very much when is she going to attack and how is she going to attack,” says Executive Producer Denise Huth.
Watch a Look at The Walking Dead Season 10:
The new look at Season 10 was posted as part of TWD X — ten weeks of exciting reveals leading up to the Season 10 Premiere. Last week’s reveal was an exclusive portion of the table read from the premiere episode.
Prior TWD X releases have included a photo of Rosita’s baby, Socorra, new images of Daryl, Michonne and Carol in Season 10, the introduction of a new Whisperer, Gamma, played by Thora Birch, as well as photos of Kevin Carroll (The Leftovers, Snowfall) as Virgil.
When Episode 1 of Season 10 premieres on Sunday October 6 at 9/8c, it is Spring, a few months after the end of Season 9, when our group of survivors dared to cross into Whisperer territory during the harsh winter.
The collected communities are still dealing with the effects of Alpha’s horrific display of power, reluctantly respecting the new borderlines being imposed on them, all while organizing themselves into a militia-style fighting force, preparing for a battle that may be unavoidable.
But the Whisperers are a threat unlike any they have ever faced. Backed by a massive horde of the dead, a conflict with the Whisperers is seemingly a fight the survivors cannot win. The question of what to do, and the fear it breeds, will infect the communities and give rise to paranoia, propaganda, secret agendas, and infighting that will test them as both individuals and as a society.
The very idea of whether civilization can survive in a world filled with the dead hangs in the balance.
