It’s logrolling day!
In a new behind-the-scenes video, the crew explains how they created the logrolling scene that crushed walkers (and Aaron’s arm) alike.
To create the scene, stunt actors threw themselves onto the ground and the rolling logs were shot separately.
“Sometimes you have stunt men, real people, getting hit with rubber logs. Sometimes you have fake people getting hit with fake logs,” says VFX Supervisor Aaron McLane, “and we might even have a chance where we have real logs coming down the hill and fake people getting hit with them.”
Then the entire scene was brought together digitally.
