Your First Look at AMC’s The Walking Dead Booth at Comic-Con

Comic-Con International 2010 kicked off with a press preview tonight, Wed., Jul. 21, and was there just to get you these initial shots of The Walking Dead booth at the San Diego Convention Center. (Click here to learn more about activities at AMC’s Comic-Con booth.) The booth depicts a scene from the show’s pilot episode, in which Rick Grimes — recently awakened from a coma to a post-apocalyptic world — stumbles upon a farmhouse in which two occupants have committed suicide. Scrawled in blood on the wall are the words “God Forgive Us.” Well, at least, that’s what it will say in the series.

For Comic-Con, the language has been changed to “Please Forgive Us” to meet compliance rules. As to those two dead bodies on display, they are actual props from the production. In the window panes, disguised television monitors play actual footage of walkers from the series, too.

Even more fun are the CRT television sets located just across the booth. These flat panel monitors allow attendees to transform themselves into walkers as if they themselves were in the pilot. Afterward, you can e-mail the resulting short video to yourself as a one-of-a-kind souvenir. Want to see more of the booth right now?
