AMC announced today that the critically-acclaimed supernatural series Preacher will return in 2017 for an expanded 13-episode second season. “What Sam [Catlin], Seth [Rogen], Evan [Goldberg] and the entire creative team have achieved in bringing Garth Ennis’s graphic novel to the screen is extraordinary,” Charlie Collier, president of AMC, SundanceTV and AMC Studios, said in a statement. “We look forward to more time with these unforgettable characters be it in Heaven, Hell, Texas or beyond.”
Preacher is the No. 2 new series this year among adults, which is no surprise given its genre-bending approach to the story that follows Jesse (Dominic Cooper), a Texas preacher, who is inhabited by a mysterious entity, which gives him the power to make people do whatever he commands.
