In the latest episode of Killing Eve, Villanelle (Jodie Comer) has returned from her deeply personal and traumatizing visit to her family in rural Russia. But back in the swing of her regular life (as much as being an assassin affords a “regular life”), things seem to be going swimmingly. She meets with Hélène (Camille Cottin), a member much higher up in the ranks of the Twelve, who praises Villanelle’s work. “I’ve been wanting to meet you for a long time,” Hélène says, “I’ve been watching you.” Villanelle doesn’t really know how to take this. “Watching me in a kinky way?” she asks. Hélène pops open a bottle of champagne and raises a glass to Villanelle. “It’s official,” Hélène says, “To Villanelle, the Keeper.”
Villanelle has secured her promotion, but when she’s assigned another kill job, she quickly realizes “moving up” might not mean what she thought. She comes to Konstantin (Kim Bodnia) with an uncharacteristic request concerning the future of her job.
Meanwhile, Eve (Sandra Oh) investigates the attack on Niko (Owen McDonnell). Jamie (Danny Sapani) and Bear (Turlough Convery) presume the perpetrator was Villanelle, but for all of Villanelle’s madness, Eve knows Villanelle wouldn’t touch Niko. With her penchant for female serial killers, she slowly puts the pieces together: Villanelle and Dasha (Dame Harriet Walter) are connected. When she finds out where Dasha is, the game between them is on. But how can she take on Dasha without becoming the next target on her hit list?
At the same time, Carolyn (Fiona Shaw) continues her investigation outside of MI6’s information networks. She learns key clues about what Kenny was investigating in his final days, and discovers that there might be a rat among the ranks — and her closest inner circle.
