Daniel Wu Talks Badlands With Hypable; Syfy Interviews Ella-Rae Smith

This week, Daniel Wu speaks with Hypable, while Syfy Wire interviews Ella-Rae Smith about Nix. Plus, Screen Rant muses about Minerva. Read on for more:

• Daniel Wu tells Hypable that Seasons 1 and 2 were “about personal battles” and Season 3 “has become an ideological battle. This is on a much larger scale. [He gradually opens his arms wider and wider] The show in season 1 was like this, season 2 is like this, and season 3 got real big.”

Syfy Wire interviews Ella-Rae Smith, who explains that since Nix “betrayed Pilgrim so strongly, she will become one of his biggest enemies. Plus, she’s got inside information. She’s been part of that community, she knows how he works. She is probably one of the biggest threats against him.”

Screen Rant reckons, “While Minerva has previously expressed a willingness to form a temporary alliance with Sunny in order to defeat a common enemy, the remainder of Into the Badlands Season 3 may see Minerva become a truly trustworthy and reliable ally for the first time.”

• According to Bleeding Cool, Daniel Wu says, “We set out with a very simple goal: ‘to bring this level of action to TV,’ and we succeeded! We accomplished so much in a short amount of time. I think this show is going to live on in the cult world and the streaming world.”

Screen Rant discusses how “the Gift has been utilized as a powerful weapon that turns those who possess it into Dark Ones, who are essentially ruthless killing machines. However, it appears that so many people on the show have been misusing it.”

Hypable declares that the show’s “plot is really moving now that we’re in the back half of the final season of the show.”
