Do you ever wonder what your day would like through the lens of someone else? Would the energy of the people you interact with feel the same? Would the colors around you feel warmer, or brighter? This experiment, if you will, is exactly how Jason Segel structured the story of Dispatches From Elsewhere. Specifically, he gave the viewer, you, four perspectives to see the story through — Peter, Simone, Janice, and Fredwynn.
“You read a book, the reader is doing half the work, it’s the words of the author and the imagination of the reader. In the beginning of each of these episodes we challenge the viewer to think of Peter as you, think of Simone as you, think of Janice as you, think of Fredwynn as you, and hopefully that activates the viewer to participate,” explains Segel, the creator of Dispatches and also the actor playing Peter.
