The third episode of Breaking Bad‘s first season — “…And the Bag’s in the River” — made an impression on the critics at Entertainment Weekly and Newsweek.
EW ranked it No. 4 (out of 10) in its list of the year’s favorite episodes, noting the “gripping, quirky depiction of a monstrous moral quagmire” where Emmy winner Bryan Cranston’s Walt White “ultimately, awkwardly” strangles a drug dealer: “It’s official: Our Walt has broken bad.”
