Recreating the Superlab in its initial stages was no easy feat for the Better Call Saul creators. From location scouting and lighting to construction and art direction, the task was one huge collaborative effort.
While the location of the Better Call Saul Superlab was “within several dozen feet…of the Breaking Bad superlab,” according to executive producer Peter Gould, the look and feel couldn’t be more different. In fact, a reference the crew used to create the space, especially when it came to lighting, was “2001 Space Odyssey, the moon sequence where they uncover tyco magnet anomaly one, TMA1,” according to Gould.
