Better Call Saul's Patrick Fabian and Ariel Levine Create Their Own Crime Flick on Make This Movie
If you haven't caught an episode of Make This Movie, an original AMC Digital Series presented by SundanceTV, you're in for a treat. It's a creative brainstorm session where the hosts and selected guests get together to come up with an entirely new movie plot, on the fly. They’re given prompts and then they riff on wild premises, hypothetical stars, and Easter eggs, plotting everything out all the way down to the film's final moments.
The prompt for the latest episode: organized crime. And we can't think of anyone better to take part in this creative brainstorm of fake movie-making fun than the folks from the world of Better Call Saul. Patrick Fabian, who plays Howard Hamlin, and staff writer Ariel Levine, who is up for three Writers Guild Awards, join hosts Gaby Dunn and Allison Raskin to dream up a new and compelling story, from scratch.
We'll avoid any major spoilers, but you should know that this crime film involves maple syrup and Catherine O'Hara. Would you watch this Canadian crime family do very bad things?
Added bonus for Better Call Saul fans: Fabian and Levine continue to exercise their crime knowledge in a quick fire game of "Catch the Rat," where they must identify an infamous snitch based on a few key details.
If you haven't heard of it, it's because it's completely made up. And so are the rules, as you'll learn, when compliments and cheating become an integral part of the points system.
Now, if you like this off-the-cuff, freeform movie making business, subscribe to Sundance's Make This Movie channel to watch new episodes when they drop. For more of the latest news from AMC Networks, sign up for the AMC Insiders' Club.
