How Season 3 Set Up Jimmy's Descent Into Saul
Jimmy thought he had regrets before. Although Jimmy made some missteps in Season 3, he was determined to make things right after Kim's accident. He tried to undo the damage he did with Mrs. Landry, even if it costs him his elder practice.
Jimmy even visits Chuck to tell him that he has regrets about how things went down between them. But while Chuck puts on a tough face for Jimmy by telling him that Jimmy's never meant that much to him, he's crumbling inside -- which leads him down a path that will impact Jimmy forever. "Chuck's fate is something that is going to have a lot of power over Jimmy," executive producer Melissa Bernstein says.
Meanwhile, Mike's journey is also a downhill one. As he spends more time with his granddaughter and daughter-in-law, the need to take care of them even after he's gone becomes a pressing task. To do this, he has to get in deeper with Gus Fring -- and that can't lead to anything good.
