Better Call Saul Nominated for Drama Series and Other Writers Guild Awards

The Writers Guild of America has announced the nominees for the 2018 WGA Awards and AMC's Better Call Saul received three nominations, including Drama Series.

In addition to the top honor, which recognizes all of the show's writers  Vince Gilligan, Peter Gould, Ann Cherkis, Jonathan Glatzer, Gennifer Hutchison, Heather Marion, Thomas Schnauz and Gordon Smith the series also received two nods in the Episodic Drama category. "Chicanery," written by Gordon Smith, and "Slip," written by Heather Marion, are both up for the award. Better Call Saul was the only show to receive multiple nominations in the category.

The nominations come on the heels of actors Bob Odenkirk and Michael McKean being nominated for Best Actor in a Drama Series and Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, respectively, by the Critics Choice Awards.

AMC earned a total of four Writers Guild Award Nominations, as The Walking Dead: Red Machete received a nomination in the Short Form New Media Adapted category.

Winners will be honored at the 2018 Writers Guild Awards on Sunday, February 11, 2018, at concurrent ceremonies in Los Angeles and New York City.
