AMC Receives 24 Emmy Award Nominations

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced this morning the 67th Annual Primetime Emmy Award nominations, recognizing AMC with 24 nominations.

Mad Men, which reigns as the only television series in cable history to win the Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series four years in row (2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011), continues to be the most Emmy-nominated drama series on television with a total of 116 nominations.  The series received 11 nominations this year, including Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series (Jon Hamm), Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series (Elisabeth Moss), Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series (Christina Hendricks) and Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series, among others.

AMC’s new series Better Call Saul received 7 nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series (Bob Odenkirk), Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series (Jonathan Banks) and Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series, among others.

The Walking Dead received 4 nominations, including Outstanding Sound Editing for a Series, among others, and Halt and Catch Fire was nominated for Outstanding Main Title Design. In addition, the live after show Talking Dead was nominated for Outstanding Interactive Program.

“We feel so fortunate to have the Academy recognize shows and performances we love and are proud to bring to viewers. In an increasingly crowded and competitive TV landscape, we know how hard creators, casts and everyone associated with these productions work to deliver their best. To have these efforts acknowledged by the industry is something we appreciate and never take for granted,” said Charlie Collier, president of AMC and Sundance TV.

Below is the complete list of nominations for AMC — the Primetime Emmys will be awarded Sunday, September 20 at 8/7c.
