Denzel Washington has won two Oscars (and has five total nominations), for Training Day and Glory. He’s headlined fantastic Shakespeare adaptations (Much Ado About Nothing), crime pics (American Gangster), courtroom dramas (Philadelphia), and biopics (Malcolm X). And yet, according to AMC’s voters, Denzel is only the sixteenth-greatest actor of the top 50 of all time, as compiled by Filmsite.org‘s Tim Dirks! So who is ranked better than Denzel? Currently, the Mount Rushmore of modern actors — Robert De Niro, Jack Nicholson, Clint Eastwood, and Al Pacino — are all tied for the No. 1 ranking. No surprise there. But hot on their tails are Tom Hanks (No. 5), John Wayne (No. 8), Marlon Brando (No. 10), Denzel, and a few dozen others. So do you agree with the current rankings? If you have a different opinion, go right ahead and rank the 50 greatest actors of all time yourself!
