Sundance 2011 – Print Journalism Under the Microscope in Documentary Page One

Filmmaker Andrew Rossi (Le Cirque: A Table in Heaven) and New York Times columnist David Carr stopped by the AMC News studio at the Sundance Film Festival to discuss the documentary Page One: A Year Inside the New York “Times, which premiered on Sunday in the festival’s U.S. Documentary Competition section.

In the film, Rossi spends a year embedded in the Times newsroom following Carr and several other journalists as they pitch, investigate, and write stories; weather a massive round of layoffs; and navigate a fast-changing media landscape that threatens their jobs and the future of print journalism.

AMC News correspondent Jacob Soboroff talked with Rossi and Carr about how the film was shot and why they both think it’s important for audiences to see it.
