The Newsdesk 1.04.10 – Avatar Passes $1 Billion; Hurt Locker Tops National Society of Critics

Avatar joined the list of the top ten grossing movies of the decade on Sunday, reaching $341.8 million after only 17 days of release. Cameron couldn’t be content conquering the next decade. Mr. “King of the World” just had to top this one at the very last minute.

The Hurt Locker topped the National Sociey of Film Critics Awards, scoring Best Picture and Best Director for Kathryn Bigelow. It’s about time the director of Point Break got some accolades.

• Matthew McConaughey and girlfriend Camila Alves welcomed a baby girl over the weekend. McConaughey celebrated by tearing his shirt off and tackling some gnarly waves, brah.
