• Jason Momoa (Stargate Atlantis) has been cast as the new Conan the Barbarian in Marcus Nispel’s reboot. Yet another gig the other Conan loses out on.

• Martin Scorsese is in talks to adapt the children’s book The Invention of Hugo Cabret. Because nothing says “heartwarming family tale” like the director of Goodfellas and Cape Fear.

• Mickey Rourke will reportedly play Conan the Barbarian’s father. That seems about right. The best part? No prosthetics required,

Josh Duhamel and Samuel L. Jackson will star in Sympathy for the Devil, playing humans stuck in a war between heaven and hell. To crib from Jackson in A Time to Kill: “Yes, those demons deserved to die! And I hope they burn in hell!”

• Robert Redford said he hopes to not see Paris Hilton at Sundance, citing the star as an example of the festival’s over-commercialization in recent years. Perhaps House of Wax wasn’t quite the Sundance sensation the producers hoped for.
