Writing, directing and producing Terminator 2 (1991) isn’t the only thing that kept Avatar director James Cameron busy in the late ’80s and early ’90s. He also had a brief marriage to talented, if infinitely less celebrated, fellow director Kathryn Bigelow. From 1989 to 1991 the pair were wed, during which time Cameron released The Abyss (1989) and Terminator 2, and Bigelow Blue Steel (1989) and Point Break (1991). Since then she’s gone more highbrow with Strange Days (1995) and The Hurt Locker (2008) and he’s stayed blockbuster with Titanic (1998) and Avatar (2009). Big picture: Whom do you prefer?
