The Newsdesk 10.07.09 – Brody Signs on for Predators; New Line to Take Another Vacation

• Adrien Brody has joined the cast of Fox’s Predators, a reboot of the Predator franchise. From Schwarzenegger to Brody– action heroes have come a long way.

• New Line is planning a new National Lampoon’s Vacation sequel that will focus on son Rusty, now all grown-up. It’ll be pretty much the same movie, except admission to Wally World now costs $500 bucks a day.

• Rumor has it sequels for both Zombieland and Showgirls are in the works. Weren’t the actors in Showgirls actually zombies? It certainly seemed that way.

• Kirk Douglas will be honored at the BAFTA/LA Britannia Awards.

• DC Entertainment has snatched back the rights to The Flash movie from producer Charles Roven (The Dark Knight). The fact that there have been three Blade movies, and zero Flash movies, is a sad commentary on DC’s movie track record.
