• Shia LaBeouf, Scarlett Johansson, and Ryan Gosling are among the actors attached to Depression-Era bootlegger story The Wettest County in the World. Ironically, the first title was, “Cheese it, the fuzz! 23 skidoo!”

Josh Brolin will replace Sean Penn in the drama Cartel, about a man who protects his son from Mexican drug cartels. They went from intense and brooding to, uh, even more intense and brooding.

Hugh Jackman could be starring in Real Steel, about a father and son who participate in the Robot Boxing Championship. So, basically, it’s “Rock ‘Em, Sock ‘Em Robots: The Movie”?

• The first look at Steve Carrell and Tina Fey in Date Night has been released. The images don’t offer any plot details, but it’s safe to say things are going to get awkward.

• Photos from the set of Green Hornet revealed the first look at the costume. The stuntman looks great! Er, maybe that’s Seth Rogen. Seth Rogen looks great!

• Fox is developing a biopic around the rock group The Ramones based on the memoir I Slept with Joey Ramone. The sequel will be based on the follow-up, “I Had A Mediocre Brunch with Marky Ramone.”
