SciFi Power Ranking – January 5, 2009

Before we enter into the first Power Ranking of 2009, I’d like to talk about Watchmen, which as you’ll see has once again snagged the Number 1 spot. I have to confess I’m more than a little puzzled by all the hate heaped upon Fox for this whole Watchmen legal debacle. Yes, the movie might be delayed, which would indeed suck. And, yes, Fox has done its share of stupid things in the past. But the stupidity crown here goes to Warner Bros., which spent over $120 million to make a movie it didn’t own. Stop dumping on Fox, which is simply protecting its interests. There. I feel better now.

10 HunterPrey75.jpg Hunter Prey
Sandy Collora’s Hunter Prey is shaping up to be the little SF movie that could, and with the director describing everything that’s wrong with science fiction today — and being right on all counts — it’s getting awfully hard not to pull for this one.
