And The Scariest Movie Of All Time Is…

Shining_titleThe Shining.

At least, that’s what the results of Shoot The Projectionist‘s 31 Flicks To Give You The Willies poll have come up with.  Out of a list of 183 nominated films, it received a whopping 997 points, over a hundred more than the #2 film, Night of the Living Dead.  Not bad for a film that was deemed a disappointment when it first opened back in 1980.

As for the rest of the top five, the results were Halloween at #3, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre at #4 and Psycho at #5.  The rest of the list is a pretty respectable bunch overall, with the only head-scratcher (for me) being The Ring at #23, ahead of the original Ringu.  Other than that, not much to argue with here. Congrats to Projectionist webmaster Ed Hardy for taking on such a mammoth task!
