It’s totally worth it. Drink a cup or two of java and stay up for The Young Lions, showing on AMC this Sunday morning (late Saturday night) at 2:30 a.m., Eastern Time. The movie, which was based on Irwin Shaw’s book, focuses on the lives of two WWII soldiers and stars Marlon Brando, Montgomery Clift, Hope Lange and Dean Martin.
Interestingly, The Young Lions marked the comeback of Dean Martin after the tempestuous breakup of the Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis comedy team. Actually, Tony Randall snagged the job, but pressure from industry bigwigs put Martin in the Michael Wiseacre role. It was the right move, no doubt.
