Denzel In Pelham One Two Three Remake

Pelham_2
There are few films full of the tension and suspense of the properly cynical thriller, The Taking of Pelham One Two Three, the 1974 hostage thriller which takes place on the New York City subway line.  I
mean, check out this trailer, if you’ve never seen the movie.  You have to love the cool as a cucumber Matthau, who says, "There’s no way you can get away with this. You are underground … in a tunnel."

Now, according to Variety, Denzel "Washington will take on the role of Zachary "Z" Garber, which was played by Walter Matthau in the original 1974 Joseph Sargent-helmed film. The story, based on a novel by John Godey, also spawned a 1998 TV movie starring Edward James Olmos.
The
latest incarnation takes place in contemporary New York and is set in
motion when four hijackers take over a subway train and hold the
passengers for ransom."  Which is the same plot as the original.  I
don’t know how dorect Tony Scott is going to top the classic.  But if Denzel
is involved, I’m willing to take a look.
