Burn Gorman has been cast in AMC’s drama pilot, TURN. Based on the book Washington’s Spies written by Alexander Rose, TURN is set in the summer of 1778 and tells the story of Abe Woodhull, who bands together with a group of childhood friends to form The Culper Ring, an unlikely group of spies who turn the tide in America’s fight for independence. Gorman will play the role of “Hewlett,” a British Major who is assigned to the Colonies and billeted at the home of Magistrate Richard Woodhull. A bit of a romantic at heart, Hewlett holds to the letter of the law and is disturbed by Abe’s lawlessness, seeing it as symptom of a more serious disease afflicting the Colonies.
Also cast in the pilot are Meegan Warner as “Mary Woodhull,” Abe’s wife who does not want to see their young son grow up to become a soldier, and Daniel Henshall as “Caleb Brewster,” a former whaler who, eager to fight back against the oppressive British, is now a Lieutenant in the Second Continental Artillery.
TURN, from AMC Studios, is written by showrunner Craig Silverstein (Nikita) and executive produced by Barry Josephson (Bones, Enchanted) from Josephson Entertainment.Read More
