How the Crew Made the Waterlogged Walkers in The Walking Dead Season 7, Episode 15

A group of heavily armed women aren’t the only thing standing between Rick and the guns he desperately needs to acquire from Oceanside.

As always, grotesque walkers also stand in the group’s way.

In a new video detailing the making of Season 7, Episode 15, the cast and crew show how they created the waterlogged walkers that assault the survivors in Oceanside.

“We’ve got some walkers that are coming out of the ocean,” VFX Supervisor Victor Scalise explains. “These walkers are waterlogged with barnacles and seaweed.”

The walkers are a new look for the show, and Briana Venskus (Beatrice) thinks she came across the coolest-looking one of the herd: “I got the one with the full skeleton body, his spine was exposed [with] algae everywhere.”

As for taking them out, Norman Reedus couldn’t wait. “It’s nice to be back in fighting mode,” he says.
