Making of “The Well” — See the Four-Month Process of Creating Shiva

It takes a village… to make a tiger for The Walking Dead.

“If you’re wondering if the tiger is real. Yes, it’s real. Of course it’s real. Everything is real!” says Khary Payton (King Ezekiel). “A third of the zombies are actually real… so take that home and tell your mama.”

The rest of the cast and crew tell a different story when it comes to the intricate process of making Season 7, Episode 2, “The Well,” and bringing Ezekiel’s pet, Shiva, to life.

“When she’s just sitting there and enjoying basking in the sun, the subtleties of just getting that feel is more difficult sometimes than actually if you had to have a tiger actually attack someone,” says Lead Animator Michael Holzl.
