Inside “Service” — Jeffrey Dean Morgan on Negan Exerting His “Negan-ism”

“Little pig, little pig, let me in!”

In a new behind-the-scenes video about Episode 4, “Service,” Jeffrey Dean Morgan explains Negan’s early arrival in Alexandria as a way to exert “his Negan-ism.” That means smiling, joking and taking what he wants “just to remind Rick who’s in charge.”

“Now we’re seeing what Negan’s going to bring to the table,” Morgan warns.

But not everyone has a sense of humor about the Saviors’ visit. Rick — who is caught off-guard when Negan is ahead of schedule — seems to be giving in to Negan’s rule and wants the rest of the Alexandrians to get on board as well.

“He gives him his baseball bat to hold and he walks round like this muted animal,” Andrew Lincoln says of how Rick is adapting to the new world order.

“He is broken. This is not a show. This is not a long-term game plan of Rick Grimes,” says Co-Executive Producer Denise Huth.
