The Walking Dead Grabs Three Golden Reel Nominations

On Fri., Jan. 20 the Motion Picture Sound Editors announced their nominees for the 2012 Golden Reel Awards, and The Walking Dead was honored with three nods for Best Sound Editing: Long Form Dialogue and ADR in Television, Best Sound Editing: Short Form Dialogue and ADR in Television and Best Sound Editing: Long Form Sound Effects and Foley in Television. In addition, The Walking Dead‘s Executive Producer, Gale Anne Hurd, was named the recipient of the 2012 MPSE Filmmaker Award.

The Walking Dead‘s nominations are among four garnered by AMC this year, with Breaking Bad taking home a nomination in the Best Sound Editing: Short Form Sound Effects and Foley in Television category and Hell on Wheels receiving a nod for Best Sound Editing: Short Form Dialogue and ADR in Television.

Competing with AMC’s lineup this year are such shows as HBO’s Game of Thrones, Showtime’s Homeland, Fox’s Terra Nova and Fringe and the CW’s Smallville.

The awards will be presented during a ceremony Sun., Feb. 19 at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles.
