The Making of the Mob: New York Series Premiere Was an Offer 1.7 Million Viewers Couldn’t Refuse

Leave the gun, take the viewers: The series premiere of AMC’s eight-part docu-drama The Making of The Mob: New York on June 15th was a hit, delivering 1.7 million total viewers to the network.

“While the docu-drama format is new for AMC, The Making of The Mob: New York focuses on a world with which we are very familiar, given the enormously popular mob films we have shared with viewers over the years,” said Charlie Collier, AMC president. “We’re extremely pleased with the initial response to the series, and we pay our public respect to [executive producer] Stephen David and his team, who have once again demonstrated what talented and unique storytellers they are. We look forward to sharing the rest of this story as it unfolds in the weeks ahead.”

As part of “Mob Mondays,” The Making of The Mob: New York is partnered with a lead-in from AMC’s extensive library of iconic mobster films, including Goodfellas, The Godfather, The Godfather Part II, Casino, Scarface, American Gangster, Carlito’s Way, and Donnie Brasco.

New episodes of The Making of the Mob: New York air on Mondays at 10/9c on AMC. Watch the full Series Premiere (no login required) and full Episode 2 on now.
