The Killing‘s Mireille Enos and Michelle Forbes Nab Satellite Award Nominations

The International Press Academy announced today their nominees for the 2011 Satellite Awards, and The Killing was honored with two nods: Mireille Enos has been nominated in the Actress in a Series: Drama category, and Michelle Forbes has been nominated in the Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Miniseries or Motion Picture Made for Television category.

In the Drama Actress category, Enos faces off against Connie Britton from DirecTV/NBC’s Friday Night Lights; Claire Danes from Showtime’s Homeland; Julianna Margulies from CBS’s The Good Wife; Katey Sagal from FX’s Sons of Anarchy; and Eve Myles from the BBC’s Torchwood.

In the Supporting Actress category, Forbes is up against Margo Martindale from FX’s Justified, Maya Rudolph from NBC’s Up All Night, Kelly Macdonald from HBO’s Boardwalk Empire, Sofia Vergara from ABC’s Modern Family, Evan Rachel Wood from HBO’s Mildred Pierce, Maggie Smith from PBS’s Downton Abbey, and Vanessa Williams from ABC’s Desperate Housewives.

AMC picked up a total of five Satellite Award nominations this year, with The Wallking Dead receiving a nomination and Breaking Bad receiving two nods.

The Satellite Awards are presented by the International Press Academy (IPA), an entertainment media association with voting members worldwide who represent domestic and foreign markets via print, television, radio, blogs, and other content platforms for virtually every notable outlet.

The awards will be presented during a ceremony on Sun., Dec. 18.
