Have burning questions about the Season 3 Premiere of Better Call Saul? Fortunately, Vince Gilligan, Peter Gould, Rhea Seehorn (Kim Wexler), and Jonathan Banks (Mike Ehrmantraut) gathered on Chris Hardwick‘s couch to discuss the episode in detail on Talking Saul.
During the after-show, the cast and creators remarked about how the “the crossover on the Venn diagram between Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad gets larger and larger” this season. As a result, that means the show is inching ever closer to the inevitable transition of Jimmy McGill to Saul Goodman — which isn’t exactly good news to the creators who have really fallen in love with Jimmy. “It’s a bit of a tragedy that Jimmy McGill necessarily has to become Saul Goodman,” co-creator and executive producer Vince Gilligan says. “He has to… and we’re not looking forward to it.”
But as we know, the story doesn’t end with Saul, as he later goes on to become a Cinnabon manager named Gene. The creators also weighed in what the latest glimpse of Gene in the future means for the show. Plus, find out all about who is tracking Mike, why Kim is obsessed with semicolons, and Gilligan’s very personal connection to The Adventures of Mabel.
