Norman sits through a private show with a sword swallower, watching in amazement as the performer puts a sword down his throat and pull it out unscathed — and even asks Norman to pull a sword out of his throat as well!
Then, Norman visits Marie Roberts, the artist-in-residence who paints the iconic images of the Coney Island Freak Show, who tells Norman about the importance of the Freak Show and how it gives others who are different the chance to shine and have fun. “Any art that can entertain and open minds? Well, that’s what it’s all about,” Norman says.
