In anticipation of the premiere of the cult classic comic adaptation Preacher, AMC is partnering with Vertigo, from DC Entertainment, to offer limited edition items online and in comic shops throughout the United States. Starting Wednesday, May 11, fans can get a free digital download of a reprint of the first issue from the series, showcasing a brand-new cover by Steven Dillon that features the likeness of the characters from the AMC series. You can claim your free download through May 23 at any of the following online retailers: ComiXology.com, Readdcentertainment.com, Amazon, iTunes, Google, iVerse, Barnes & Noble’s Nook. Those looking for hard copies of the reprint can find them in comic stores throughout the U.S. starting May 18. Preacher is a supernatural, twisted and darkly comedic drama based on Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s cult comic book franchise of the same name. Executive-produced by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and Sam Catlin, the series tells the story of Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), a conflicted preacher in a small Texas town, who is inhabited by a mysterious entity that causes him to develop a highly unusual power. Ruth Negga and Joseph Gilgun also lead a cast of characters from Heaven, Hell and everywhere in between.
