Harry fights hard to be appreciated at SC&P, proving his worth time and time again, from his early initiative on the Belle Jolie account to his success landing the massive Sunkist account. Yet Harry never feels he gets the respect he deserves, which contributes to a growing ego and a habit of name-dropping his Hollywood connections to reaffirm his importance. Despite his apparent self-interest, he shows loyalty to friends Pete and Ken, and his allegiance to Don leads Don to support Harry’s bid for partnership. But Roger’s surprise sale of the agency leaves the partners rich and Harry once again empty-handed.
Rich Sommer has been featured in some of television’s most popular series including The Office, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Elementary, Law & Order, CSI, and The League. Films include The Devil Wears Prada, Fairhaven, The Giant Mechanical Man, Celeste and Jesse Forever, and the upcoming Hello, My Name Is Doris with Sally Field. Sommer recently appeared on Broadway in Harvey and off-Broadway in the new play The Unavoidable Disappearance of TOM DURNIN.
A student, performer, and teacher of improvisation, Sommer received his training and experience with The Brave New Workshop in Minneapolis and the Upright Citizens Brigade in New York. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, and went on to study at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH, where he received his master of fine arts degree in acting.
Sommer and his wife, Virginia, live in Los Angeles with their two children.
