Walker has his own reasons to be mistrustful, especially after Madison broke the parley and killed some of his men.

He’s “filled with a sort of long, simmering rage,” says Michael Greyeyes, who plays Walker.

If there was any chance of reaching a truce before, it all goes out the window once Walker thinks he’s been betrayed by the Ottos… again.
