Season 3, Episode 8
The guys head to the Baltimore Comic Con to launch their comic book, Cryptozoic Man. Meanwhile, Sunday Jeff works on a Saturday to fill in for Walt.
At Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash, the guys are excited by the delivery of several boxes of Issue 1 of Cryptozoic Man, a comic book written and illustrated by Walt and Bryan with cooperation from Mike and Ming. The comic centers on a character who is an amalgamation of a human being and legendary creatures like Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster and the Jersey Devil. The distributor, Dynamite Comics, has even created a special variant cover for the Baltimore Comic-Con, where the guys are all headed to officially launch the book. Before they go, Walt buys issues #1 and #13 of The Tomb of Dracula, a comic book series he loved as a kid which spawned the character Blade. At the Con, the guys sit down at their own table to sign autographs for a long line of fans (several of whom ask to tug and stroke Bryan's beard), including a woman dressed as Cheetara from Thundercats and a man on stilts in a full Avatar costume. Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes stop by for a surprise visit, and a proud Kevin congratulates his friends and tells them, "This is your Clerks, all four of you." Meanwhile, "Sunday Jeff," a customer-turned-employee who normally runs the store on Sundays, holds down the fort at the Stash while the guys attend the Con. Jeff is unable to negotiate a deal with a seller who brings in a Star Wars Jawa Sandcrawler toy, and also cannot come to terms with another seller who brings in some Meego Buck Rogers action figures.
